Nonviolent Communication - The Basics

"Human beings have enormous power to enrich life. We can use words to contribute to people’s enjoyment, their wisdom. We can use words that can make life miserable for people. So our words are very powerful. We can touch people in ways that give great pleasure, great nurturing, support. We are powerhouses, and there’s nothing we enjoy doing more than to use that power we have to enrich lives. So isn’t it wonderful that we have this power and the joy it brings when we use it? That’s to be celebrated. Wow! And the more we celebrate that, the less we will be willing to do anything else." –Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD

This 4 part workshop guides participants through the fundamentals of NVC (nonviolent communication) as taught by Marshall Rosenberg and trainers across the globe. Participants will learn to identify,  acknowledge and use their words to care for the needs which underly all human action.  Through somatic exercises and practices participants will be empowered to use their thoughts and their words to experience deeper and more authentic connection with themselves and others.

Basics of Restorative Practices

The science of Restorative Practices is the study of how to build social relationships so that individuals and groups can function respectfully and effectively. The practices of restorative practices build and support psychological safety, encourage authentic expression and facilitate collaborative and fair processes and decision making.

This works shop introduces the what, why and how of restorative practices. Participants are introduced to 4 types of  use of power use, fair processes and restorative conflict resolution.  This introduction will illuminate the keys to experiencing peaceful, effective, respectful and collaborative relationships at home and at work.

Decisions that Work

Learn how to apply concepts and practices of engagement, explanation and expectation clarity before and after decisions in order to make decisions which work within your work team, your community group, your household, or even your personal relationships. When measuring for effectiveness and success, how you make a decision has been shown to be as important, and sometimes even more important than the decision itself.

Circle of Gratitude

In addition to being a recipe for joy and connection, gratitude can transform depression into hope, fear and uncertainty into trust, and scarcity into abundance.  But gratitude is more than saying thank you. Radical gratitude connects you with the needs which keep you safe and give your life meaning and purpose. This workshop uses movement, meditation, journalling and shared practice to experience the power of radical gratitude.
